Many local and international events and festivals are held in Netanya throughout the year and are part of Netanya`s tourism events, making the resort a lively meeting place for people from all over the world. From delicious local food to international musical festivals, there’s something for everyone.


Clowning around

The Netanya International Clown Festival is becoming an annual fixture and features dozens of clowns, displays and street performances for free in the new Independence Square. There are serious works suitable for adults and humorous performances for children in August at Heichal Hatarbut and various venues around Netanya. Tickets are free and available from the Netanya Municipality.


Foodie Events

The Kosher Taste of the City takes place annually in August and is where festival-goers can find what they want at the Hof Argmon promenade in Netanya . The festival was the brainchild of former government minister Shaul Yahalom, and is where visitors can try foods from various local kosher restaurants and purchase new kitchen utensils and equipment. There’s also live music and a host of child-friendly activities.

The Beer and Meat Festival is held annually at the Rubenstein Restaurant, Netanya in the Poleg Industrial Center in the south of the city’s Yachin Center. There are burgers, sausages, chorizos, hamburgers and more on offer. At the open-air affair which, while not kosher, is a place surrounded by kosher restaurants and cafes. Beers are served by the brewers or importers. Takes place in July.


Musical events in Netanya

The Netanya Classical Guitar Festival is held each year in the second half of October, bringing together local and international artists for five days. The festival promotes the classical music of Spain, Portugal and Latin America. The festival takes place in the Heichal Hatarbut of Netanya, and as well as music features lectures, workshops, master classes and competitions, including the youth competition. Visitors can also access an exhibition and sale of guitars, scores, equipment and CDs. Ticket prices vary.

The Redancing Festival is an annual staple featuring music, movement and dance where participants can enjoy three days of dancing with over 40 of the best dance teachers in Israel. On offer are contact and improvisation, Biodanza, Five Rhythms, Irish dancing, Samba, Nia, Afro-Cuban dance, Sacred Dance, meditations and more. At night festival-goers can celebrate with the world music DJs Redance and free dance parties. Takes place at the end of May.
