    Is the first additional driver included in the price? 

    Insurance for every additional driver is available for an additional fee. FYI, you may add drivers with a minimum of two years’ experience as a licensed driver. For an additional fee a driver who is 21 years old or older can also be added.

    What types of insurance are offered and what do they include?

    Purchase of third party insurance (LDW/Mandatory) is compulsory + Comprehensive and theft insurance (CDW). In addition, you may purchase Extended Coverage, such as for cancelation of deductible and/or windshield coverage. If you have a credit card from overseas that covers insurance, you can purchase only Third Party insurance (LDW)

    Do you rent safety seats? 

    Certainly! Eldan has two types of safety seat –an infant seat and a booster seat. During the reservation process, you will be able to view the seats that can be rented with the car, according to the child’s age and weight.

    The size of a suitcase is estimated. There is no commitment to a specific type of car or size of suitcase.

    I reserved cars more than seven times this year through Eldan and the system still does not identify me as a Gold Customer. Why not? 

    An Eldan customer who rents a car more than seven times a year is entitled to join the Gold Customer Club and enjoy worthwhile benefits when renting a car. To check entitlement to VIP Gold membership, call the Customer Service Center at Tel. 972-3-5654545 extension 3.

    How do I report an accident involving an Eldan car?

    Is it possible to cancel the deductible?  

    You can cancel the deductible by purchasing an additional “Excess Waiver” coverage when you pick up or reserve the car.

    I rented a car in Israel and the authorizations taken by the credit card company as a deposit were still not canceled.

    Authorizations received as a deposit when opening the rental contract will be canceled within 48 hours of the car return. If more than 48 hours have passed since you returned your car, you can contact the branch in which the contract was opened. For a list of branches click here

    What do I have to do to register for the Expressway option? 

    You should choose the Expressway option on the reservations engine. Afterwards you will be asked to fill out a form with all of your personal details so that we can prepare your rental contract in advance and save you precious time.

    What is the deductible if the car was damaged?

    If the car was damaged, the deductible depends on the car group. The deductible ranges from about NIS 2000 to NIS 4000 (plus VAT)

    Which credit cards does Eldan honor?

    International cards of Visa, Isracard, American Express and Diners Club. FYI, it is not possible to use a Direct or Debit card when renting a car at Eldan.

    Is the Eldan Expressway option available at all branches?

    The Eldan Expressway service is available only at Ben-Gurion Airport.

    What should I do if the car has a mechanical problem? 

    If the car has a malfunction, you can call the Road Service and Towing Center at Tel. 972-3-5579000. The Center is at your service 24/7.

    May I rent a car using a credit card that is not on my name?

    The credit card must be in the name of the person who is renting the car. It is possible to add an additional driver, at additional cost.

    Is it possible to leave someone else’s Visa card as a deposit?

    No. The owner of the credit card must be the owner of the contract and must physically make an appearance at the pickup branch.

    What should I present at the branch when I pick up the car using the Eldan Expressway.

    You must present the same credit card with which you made your reservation, on your name only. In addition, you should present your passport/ID card and a valid driver’s license.

    I searched the internet for Enterprise and reached you. Are you Enterprise’s representative in Israel? 

    Eldan has been Enterprise’s exclusive marketing agent in Israel since 2013. Enterprise is the largest car rental company in the USA.

    Is it possible to leave a cash deposit for renting the car?

    Car rental is allowed only using a credit card as a deposit.

    If I am a returning customer and have already entered my details on the form for the Eldan Expressway, do I have to fill out all my details again?

    If you are a returning customer, you will have to fill out a small number of details for identification purposes on the Eldan system and fill in credit card details.

    In what cases will the credit card left as a deposit be charged?

    Non-Israeli credit cards

    Insurance with a credit card from the USA – some credit cards cover CDW insurance, i.e., comprehensive and theft. If the customer has such a credit card, it is the customer’s responsibility to make sure that he/she only has to purchase LDW, i.e., third party insurance, which is not covered by the credit card. Since the customer will not have purchased insurance through Eldan, if there is an accident or theft, Eldan will charge the entire cost of the damage to the customer’s credit card. The cost of the deposit when issuing the contract is $2500.

    If I made a reservation, how can I cancel it? 

    If you reserved a car, please enter the Reservation Cancelation Form on the website to cancel or contact Eldan’s National Reservations Center at Tel. 972-3-5579000.  . For the cancelation policy, click here (Terms of Rental ).

    Do you have convertible cars for rent?

    What are the payment options and which is the most worthwhile? 

    The website offers 2 payment options: Pay Online or Pay on Arrival.  If you chose the Pay Online option, you will pay a deposit on the total rental cost. This advance is determined by and varies according to the type of car and the number of days selected. With this payment option, you will enjoy an attractive discount as compared to the Pay on Arrival option (at the branch). When you Pay on Arrival, the rental fee will be charged at the branch. In certain instances and at the discretion of Eldan, you may choose between the Pay Online and Pay Online (Full) options, which means paying the entire amount. For Full Payment you will receive an additional discount for paying the full amount in advance.

    If I decide to shorten the rental period, will I pay less? If I wish to shorten or extend the rental period, will there be a change in the rental price? 

    The charge is finalized upon return of the car and varies according to the period of time it was actually used. For additional information, contact the branch where you rented the car.  For a list of branches, click here.

    Do you have cars with anti-rock protection?

    Eldan does not have any cars with anti-rock protection in its fleet.To view the variety of our cars, click here.

    I want to choose a car and no option appears for Paying on Arrival at the Eldan branch.  

    In certain cases, and at Eldan’s discretion, you can choose only between partial (advanced)  payment and full payment.

    When do I receive a confirmation of the rental? 

    For a car in the Mini – Family Group, confirmation is immediate in most cases.  For special size cars, such as vans or luxury cars, your request requires checking availability check with the company car pool. The answer will be given within two work days. However, we make every effort to confirm such reservations on the same day, during working hours.     Are there cars adapted for people with disabilities?

    Several cars in our fleet are adapted for people with disabilities, from 1600cc automatic cars and including adapted vans. These must be reserved in advanced.     What does paying an advance mean? 

    In paying an advance you pay a percentage of the overall cost of the rental, and the rest of the sum will be charged at the rental branch.

    Can the car be returned at any branch? Can it be returned at a branch other than the one where it was picked up?

    Certainly. The car can be returned at any of Eldan’s rental branches, according to the hours of operation at the desired branch. Please note: at the Eilat branch, a rental of fewer than three days entails an additional charge. For a list of branches, click here. Furthermore, at the Ben-Gurion Airport branch, car return entails a supplemental airport service fee (a one-time payment for pick-up/return).

    What should I do if I selected a payment option and I want to change it/the reservation? Can I change the reservation even after I chose the payment option?

    Is it possible to change the rental reservation date?

    If you wish to change the date of your reservation you can make use of the form for updating your reservation on the website (link) or contact Eldan’s National Reservations Center at Tel. 972-3-5579000.

    What does “car group” mean?  

    Every car group has several makes of  cars with the same features – automatic / manual, number of seats, etc. To view the variety of our cars, click here.

    What are the conditions for canceling a rental car reservation? 

    Any cancelation notification should be submitted within 14 days of making the reservation and at least 2 days before the car pick-up date. If the cancelation is made within this time frame Eldan is permitted to charge the renter a cancelation fee of 5% of the rental cost or NIS 100 (the lower of the two). If cancelation is not made within this time frame, or in cases of no-show at the branch on the appointed date of pick-up, Eldan is permitted to charge the renter a cancelation fee of NIS 150. A cancelation fee will be charged for each  car that was reserved.

    Is there a minimum number of rental days? 

    Generally, there is no minimum number of rental days, however you should note that at the Eilat branch there is a fee for transferring the car if it is returned at a different place, so the rental is less than 3 days. To view the regulations for Terms of Rental click here.

    Do you guarantee a car with GPS?

    If the reservation is made for a car group such as F1, in which cars usually come with a multimedia system. Also, it is possible to rent an iPad.

    Is there a cancellation fee for all cars? 

    Yes.
  •  

    How can the rental period be extended? 

    For up to 70 days, you can extend the rental period by calling the branch where the car was picked up. For over 70 days, it is necessary to appear in person at the branch to arrange the extension.For a list of branches, click here

    Is it possible to request a specific model? 

    A car reservation is for a group of cars, which offers various models. You can state your preference in the reservation and we will try to supply the model you prefer.

    If I chose Pay in Full/ Partial Payment and now wish to cancel, how will I receive a refund?

    Until what time can the car be returned? 

    The car can be returned only during the hours of the branch’s operation.For a list of branches, click here. Please note that in Eilat there is a Key Return service that can be arranged with the branch in advance.

    The reservation refers to “a car of a specific model or similar.” What does this mean?

    This means a car with similar features: number of seats, type of gear (automatic/manual), etc.

    Is it possible to rent a car for two drivers using a credit card on the name of a third person? 

    Additional drivers can be added. The owner of the credit card will sign the contract and must have a valid driver’s license as well.

    Are the prices different for people with disabilities?

    The prices are the same for all Eldan customers. A few cars are adapted for people with disabilities, from 1600cc automatic cars and including adapted vans.     I reserved a car online. How will I know that the reservation was completed?

    At the end of a reservation process that is approved, you will receive an email with the reservation voucher. If the car group that you chose must be checked for availability, you will receive confirmation that the reservation was received in the system and is being dealt with.

    Are snow chains included?

    Snow chains are not included.

    Changing car return date  

    If you already have the rental car, you should contact the branch where you rented it (the telephone number appears on the contract). If you made a reservation and still have not picked up the car, you can use the Update Reservation form on the website. For a list of branches, click here

    Which types of car have 7 – 9 seats?  

    The car groups with seven – nine passenger seats, including the driver, are: KN,MT, KT, KX and TN. To view the variety of our cars, click here.

    What documents should I bring to the rental branch?

    Israeli customers should bring a valid driver’s license and a credit card in the name of the person renting the car (who must be present at the branch).  A customer who is a tourist should bring a valid international driver’s license, a passport with an entry visa and a credit card in the name of the person who is renting the car (and is present in the branch).

    Is a special license required for driving a 9-seat car?  

    No. The law permits a B type (regular) license for a driver + 8 passengers.

    How many drivers are permitted to drive the car? 

    The driver listed on the rental contract is entitled to drive the car. It is possible to add drivers to the rental contract for additional payment. The drivers who wish to be listed on the contract must present their driver’s license at one of the Eldan branches.

    Renting a small car for one day – How much does a one-day rental cost? Is it possible to rent a car for one day? 

    Cars can be rented for one day or more. Prices vary according to the car group selected. We recommend reserving the car in advance. If not, the rental option is subject to availability. To reserve, click here.

    Is it possible to add a driver who has been licensed for less than one year?

    We do not rent cars to new drivers. A minimum of two years as a licensed driver is required.

    If an additional driver is added, does he/she have to come to the branch?

    An additional driver does not have to come to the branch. The driver listed on the contract should bring an original valid license and a passport or ID certificate of the additional driver to any Eldan branch.

    Is VAT paid in Eilat? 

    VAT is charged to Israeli citizens at every branch in Israel.
  •  

    How many passengers can be driven at one time?

    A driver with a B type license may drive up to 9 passengers in the car (including the driver), according to the number of seats in the car.

    Who is exempt from payment of VAT? 

    A person entering Israel with a b2, b3, or b4 tourist stamp and presents it at the rental counter.

    What if I don’t have an Israeli license?

    Driving with a foreign license is permitted for up to one year from the date of arrival in Israel.

    If the person renting the car is a resident of another country, will he/she be charged VAT? 

    If there is no driver with Israeli citizenship, the contract will not include VAT (upon presentation of a tourist visa stamp by the owner of the contract).

    I am a new driver. Am I allowed to drive the car?

    Do I have to fill up the gas tank of the car before returning it?

    The car is given to the customer with a full gas tank, so it is recommended to return it with a full tank. Otherwise the fee charged for filling up the tank will be higher than filling up at a gas station.

    What is the minimal age for renting a car?

    To rent a car from Eldan, the driver must be 24 years old, with a minimum of two years’ experience as a licensed driver.     Do I have to pay an Airport service charge?  

    Any pick-up or return of a car at the airport branch will include a charge in addition to the cost of the rental.

    Do you rent cars to young drivers?

    What happens if I want to drive on a toll road? What are the rules regarding travel on a toll road? If I use one of the toll roads, how will I be charged? 

    Driving on a toll road requires payment for the actual distanced covered according to the road operator’s fee schedule for nonsubscribers, plus a handling fee according to the price list on display in the rental branches. To the best of our knowledge, you can contact the toll road operator, subject to the toll road operator’s regulations and  customary contractual conditions.

    Is there an additional payment for a 21-year-old driver?

    What if I receive a parking or traffic ticket? 

    You must pay the fine at any post office branch. If it is not paid by you, Eldan with endorse the ticket to you and you will be charged a handling fee for this endorsement.
