Cultural Events
Back to All ArticlesIsrael is a true city of culture and plays host to hundreds of annual events. Two of the most popular and well- established are the International Arts and Crafts Festival in Jerusalem, and the International Klezmer Festival in Safed.
The annual Jerusalem Arts and Crafts Fair is also known as Hutzot Hayotzer in reference to its location next to a permanent art colony of that name, situated at the foot of the Old City. Thousands of people flock to view their wares as well as take in concerts, dance performances and sample local dishes at this popular Israeli summer event.
The Klezmer Festival, now in its 27th year, is a three night open-air festival that takes over the alleyways and lanes of the Old Jewish and Artist Quarters of Safed. Festival stages are set up in the city where visitors can enjoy free performances during the month of August. There are also a range of fun activities for kids and master classes for music students.
